GOV UDOM EMMANUEL SUBMITS 6 MONTHS PERFORMANCE REPORT CARD

Yesterday, I dedicated my 1800 hour to His Excellency the governor of Akwa Ibom State as he indulged us with his 6 months report and here is a rundown of what he shared in case you missed the session :
His Excellency began by thanking the good people of Akwa Ibom State for the trust bestowed on him to serve as Governor of the state stating that he is humbled by the task at hand but mindful of the sacrifices borne by the founding fathers of the great State. As a realistic leader he made good to remind the people of the ongoing litigation on the eligibility of his election but assured the people that it was a Pharaoh they will not see again while he also confirmed that the litigation was a challenge and not a clog on the wheels of performance drawing allusions from the biblical account of how  the House of David grew stronger, while the House of Saul grew weaker after God ordained David King over Israel even with Saul rising against him.
To this end he affirmed that light will always win; in which case, Divine Mandate will always triumph and Akwa Ibom people will always win at the chagrin of those who collaborate with outsiders to covet the state’s resources. In his words “Akwa Ibomites know which side their bread is buttered. We are not afraid of any re-run, because our people are solidly behind us.”
His Excellency also revealed that no iota of grudge is brewed against those challenging his mandate in court stating that it is within their rights to do so. “As a matter of fact…” the governor explained, “…we are both chasing dreams. The difference is that they are chasing their own selfish dreams; while we are chasing the dreams of Akwa Ibom people and our posterity. When the judicial process is over and our victory again, re-affirmed, we expect our brothers and sisters to bury the hatchet and come and join us to build a greater Akwa Ibom State. We must know that we do not have to see eye to eye in order to walk hand in hand. We are brothers and blood should be thicker than politics. Relationships built over decades should not be sacrificed over the fleeting impulse of partisan politics. Political foes of yesterday may become political allies tomorrow”
Having exulted the people in few words on the political tempo in the state the Dakkada General abandoned politics for welfare of the State by first charging the youths to unite and rise to the faith of greatness. “Think of Ufot Ekong! He solved a 30-year old mathematics puzzle and wrote his name in Fame. The same DNA, which Ufot has, is in you. We are a brilliant people, and I am proud of each and every one of us. We only need the opportunity to unleash our great potentials. I promise you this is what I have come to offer. What Ufot has done, you can do. Rise to the faith of greatness. ‘Dakkada’.” His excellency charged. This incidentally drafted his attention albeit briefly to the sad commentary on Akwa Ibom State politics where people who were a part of the preceding administration for seven of its eight years would now turn around and demonize the administration claiming that the administration was wasteful, irresponsible, corrupt etc. To him it does sound like one cutting his nose in order to spite his face; meaning, it is practically impossible to absolve these elements of hypocrisy without convicting them of self-indictment. It is like trying to always fool the whole of the good and wise people of Akwa Ibom State all at once! “When they lie to you, ask them the source of their wealth, and what investment they made to become wealthy and super-rich.” He advised.

Nevertheless, the Governor in stating the performance of his administration thus far explained that industrialization is a process and not an event - that while his administration is committed to industrialization and infrastructural development sparing no effort to ensure the effective and lawful execution of this drive he is also solicitously expecting that the people of Akwa Ibom State rise up (Dakkada) and support the administration.
Now, regarding the achievements so far he stated that there has been several ground breakings for new industries and resuscitation of ailing and moribund ones ranging from LED factory to automobile, and fertilizer plant to Peacock Paints that has come alive again and others.
He mentioned how he was touched by a letter signed by Chief Effiong Edak Ekong - the Chairman of Okobo Electricity Maintenance Committee, thanking him for “restoring power supply in Okobo after many years of blackout, which had caused socio-economic hardship and under-development.” This was just an example of the intervention that has brought regular electricity to many Local Government Areas in the state.
His Excellency went ahead to state that his administration is providing clean water in their efforts to stem the spread of water borne diseases. On health, he cited St Luke’s Hospital, Anua, and Ibom Specialist Hospital as examples of the revamping going on in the health sector.
On road construction he revealed that Akwa Ibom State is now a giant work site going by the numerous road construction projects across the state for example
·         In Uyo, the construction of Uyo underground outfall drainage from Nsikak Eduok Avenue through Akwa Efak to the Tropicana is at advance stage.
·         Construction of 1.2km Underground Drainage in Uyo is also running,
·         The dualization of Uyo-Etinan road with a flyover and water fountain at Etinan roundabout is on,
·         The dualization of the 23.8km Uyo-Oron road Airport road-Okpedi-Oron Road by East West Road with 60m span bridge in Odobo are set to commence.
·         A 3.5 km Ikot Udom road with a 15m span bridge in Ibiono Ibom local government Area is on course and the contractors are making good progress with site clearance and excavation works is at 75%, while pilling and construction of bridges are ongoing.
·         Major progress has also been made with the emergency works on roads in Oron with the contractor set to deliver the project within the specified time frame,
·         The same can be said of the ongoing construction of the Nto Edino-Ekwere Azu Road with 2 bridges, measuring about 45 meters in Obot Akara.
·         The dualization of 23.4km Eket-Etinan Road with 3 bridges is on-going, while the construction of bridges on the road have commenced in earnest.
·         Eket- Ibeno Road dualization, spanning 19.5 km with 4 bridges is at 53% state of completion, and the work is progressing,
·         The construction/re-modeling of selected roads in Eket, which would include strategic roundabouts and junctions in Eket metropolis are also on course.
·         In Mkpat Enin Local Government Area the construction of 5km Ikot Usop – Ikot Edeghe – Ikot Ekpuk Road with 30m Span Bridge is up and running,
·          While in Onna Local Government Area the construction of 5km Mkpok-Okat Road is also running according to schedule.
All these to mention a few according to our Lord of Dakkada will be completed in record time.
But as if to silent those who cynically challenged the report on his 100 days in office Deacon also presented other areas of achievements like:
·         The over 50 foreign investors have indicated interest in coming to setup shops in Akwa Ibom State;
·         The emergency Intervention on Gully Erosion at Enen Atai along Calabar – Itu Highway;
·         Emergency Intervention on Gully Erosion at Independence Hall area in Abak;
·         Payment of ten years arrears of pensions and gratuities to primary school teachers and local government employees;
·         Resumption of work on Ikot Ekara-Ikot Ebritam Road;
·         Electric Meter manufacturing Plant underway in ONNA;
·         Clay Processing Plant underway in ONNA;
·         Establishment of Sports Academies in the 10 Federal Constituencies;
·         1000 Youths for Oracle Certification Program;
·         Power Sector training for youths;
·         Special Agricultural Training for 100 youths in Israel;
·         Approval for the training of 329 youths in photography and film production
Mr. Udom Emmanuel noted  that from the outset, his administration  inaugurated Technical Committees to help drive the developmental efforts whom have hitherto lived up to their billings by amongst other strides attracting high investments to the State, helped evolve a second planting season and  are developing coconut plantations that will thereafter process coconut into over 360 uses scientifically.
And the big one - The actual commencement the Ibom Deep Seaport, he assured, is gathering momentum.
In rounding off, the governor admonished the good people of the state to shun rancor, tribal sentiments and political hostility and live in the principle of ‘dakkada’ as one people with a collective destiny of greatness building a great state for today, tomorrow and next tomorrows
And to supervise these His Excellency concluded thus : “Therefore, I, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, your duly elected Governor, the keeper of the Divine Mandate, pledge and guarantee you that I will continue to work hard to improve your living condition. So help me God. God bless Akwa Ibom State, God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”
And having listened to His ‘Dakkada’ Excellency only one question comes to mind: if a total rerun is ordered in the end and all these projects are duly completed who will the good and wise people of Akwa Ibom State like my, humble, self vote?

SCARE : PRESIDENT BUHARI MAY SECRETLY SURRENDER TO BOKO HARAM.

So after all the braggadocio of the alleged People's General during the presidential elections campaign to end Boko Haram in Nigeria in a twinkle of an eye when he becomes president he seems to really be keeping his words in reverse as he's already breaking records. Just last week it was reported that at least 105 soldiers attached to the 157 battalion went missing after they came under intense attack from Boko Haram insurgents in Gudunbali, Borno State, on Wednesday morning. This you will agree with me is the biggest military death we've suffered in a battle on our home soil since Nigeria-Biafra civil war.
It is also reported that the terrorists captured a T-72 tank as well as several artillery weapons from the unit. Another record breaking military sabotage!
Meanwhile week before last in Maiduguri, it was also revealed that about 34 men of the 118 battalion were also killed by the insurgents. These are just fractions of the many demises of our soldiers since Baba took over and the Military authorities are doing a mediocre job of a cover up just like it's doing on the whereabouts of Mr. President's certificate.
Lest we forget the corrupt administration of clueless President Jonathan had contracted mercenaries with far superior military war and counter intelligence tactics who had dealt a telling blow to the terrorists at the tail end of his administration. But the Buhari government in a display of ego sent the mercenaries packing without a debrief protocol at least to help our soldiers replicate their success and finish the war beyond just vowing that the terrorists could be defeated by the Nigerian Army and since then, the Army has suffered severe losses and the very same media players that use to blast news and rumours of every evil or allegedly so in the past administration are suddenly in grave silence today. This is an act in all fours with Mr. Kanu's who is being arraigned for criminal conspiracy.
The only response the military has given regarding the foregoing reports is in the words of the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai through Defence Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman "... a smear campaign against the Nigeria Military."  He proceeded to state that there are collaborators in the Nigeria Military who are currently under investigation while he patronised the media calling for cooperation with the military authority. Unfortunately, he failed to cooperate on the secret burial at the military cemetery in Maiduguri Tuesday morning of the bodies of about 105 soldiers killed in the encounter with the terrorists last week wednesday whose decomposed remains were brought to Maiduguri Monday evening in body bags and were confirmed by the Brigade Commander, Army Engineering Corps.
But the army in my opinion is not to blame here because the man who boasted about the "Change" that will wipe out terrorism in Nigeria is busy touring the world while Nigerian who voted him are violently drafted out of life everyday by the very terrorist. And now, with all these covered up killings of our soldiers, stealing of our weaponry and secret burials of our lost soldiers ; who knows if this Nigeria military will secretly surrender to Boko Haram?

KOGI STATE: DEATH AT THE POLLS & MATTERS ARISING

People always complain about why lawyers call themselves learned until something happens that throws all lay intellects off balance like the recent constitutional Lala-land that our electoral process, politics and human nature has fated upon us. Nigeria as a nation today seem to be fulfilling the Chinese curse "May you live in interesting time" for everyday in present day Nigeria is indeed an interesting season. Most recent episode in this series is the death of Prince Audu Abubakar the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Party for the Kogi State Governorship Election on 22nd November 2015 barely a day after elections were conducted albeit inconclusive  with about 91 pulling units across 18 local governments to go. The furor raging from this misfortune is second to none. Everybody is asking what the law says about such development. The answer to this is that the law says so many things and nothing about it!
Who will be sworn in as governor should the APC emerge victorious in the election which they are already in clear lead? Will the running mate inherit the governorship? Or would the incumbent governor being the second candidate in the election be declared winner? Will doctrine of necessity be applied again and what will qualify in this case as "necessity"?

Incidentally, by virtue of a combined understanding of the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFRN) in section 181, The Electoral Act in sections 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 39 and 40 as well as the judicial authority of the Supreme Court in Rotimi Amaechi v. INEC & Ors seem to prove very helpful in making the already vexing catechism more convoluted. Let us examine them in brevity.
SECTION 181 CFRN.
This is already a no go area because it makes provision for the deceased duly elected candidate as governor or president to be replaced by the running mate. In the instant case Audu died a contestant nay candidate yet to be duly elected due to whatever circumstances as they were that may have led to the inconclusiveness of an election that was scheduled and conducted a day before his death. To this extent the constitution cannot help us here.

THE ELECTORAL ACT
Section 31 requires political parties to submit the names of their nominated candidates and accompanying affidavits to the commission at least 60 days before the date scheduled for the elections. And section 34 requires such names to be published and displayed to the public at least 30 days before the election

Section 33 prohibits a political party from changing or substituting the name of the candidate already submitted in compliance to section 31 except on grounds of death of the candidate or withdrawal by same.
Section 35 provides for candidate to withdraw by writings to the party which shall in turn convey same to the commission in not less than 45 days before the election.
Section 36 empowers the Chief National or Resident Electoral Commissioner to countermand and postpone the polls where a candidate dies after delivery of nomination paper but before the polls.
Section 39:
"Subject to any provisions of this Act, if after the latest time for delivery of nomination papers and the withdrawal of candidates for an election under this act more than one person remains validly nominated poll shall be taken."
Section 40:
"A poll shall take place in accordance with the provisions of this Act with respect to the following, that is -
(a) in the case of an election to the office of President or Governor of a state, whether or not only one person is validly nominated in respect of such office."

The foregoing provisions of the electoral act like the constitution failed to provide for the present situation where a candidate dies during election whether on Election Day or in between election days in the case of inconclusive polls like the instant one. Thus, the commission could only have postponed the polls should the APC candidate have died before the polls and not during the polls.
This perfectly paints a clear picture of the conundrum in which we now are. It tells the story of the court's challenge such that we need not bother saying that it is not as easy as it seems as some have already demanded that we apply the proverbial and radical doctrine of necessity.
What is "necessity" here?
Is it a "necessity" to replace the deceased candidate with his running mate?
Such "necessity" would require some procedural if not substantive backing. A necessity does not emerge in vacuum to fill a lacuna. It is always applied from somewhere. Unfortunately there's nowhere we can find some backing for such necessity. It would be a travesty and bad precedent to do what the law did not intend in the name of necessity. After all we have not fully recovered as a nation from the last radical application of the doctrine of necessity.
When the law is surprised men also must not be ashamed to act surprised and when the law is insufficient men should show sufficiency of humanity to endure the incapacity of the their own making called 'law'. Replacing the deceased candidate with his running mate would in without prejudice to other opinions amount to political creativity less of judicial ingenuity.
The only way forward that will be most "less controversial" and more reasonable would be to conduct a fresh poll. That way all parties will be on equal pedestal.
This is what brings us to the judicial precedent of Rotimi Amaechi v INEC & Ors. where the Supreme Court has been notoriously accused of  declaring in its infallible wisdom that elections are contested and won by parties not persons. The logic inferred from this judgement by this school would therefore mean that the commission may proceed with the polls and if the APC upon conclusion of the polls emerge victorious they would then decide who would be the governor and most expediently present the surviving running mate. However, the writer here opposes such campaign for sake of judicial and political posterity. The Supreme Court in Rotimi Amaechi v INEC & Ors must be noted declared that the appellant (Rotimi Amaechi) had his name wrongly and unlawfully changed. "In the eyes of the law he remained the candidate and this court must treat him as such" per Katsina-Alu JSC (delivering the Lead Judgment) this is ultimately why Rotimi Amaechi was declared governor. In this case, "who is the candidate in the eyes of the law?" Can the law be said to have the deceased as the candidate in its eye and his running mate a pseudo-candidate in its back-eye?
Parenthetically, attempting to replace the deceased with his running mate would be akin to borrowing the spirit of political jurisprudence of Awolowo v Shagari to do social engineering to another political emergency. But even Roscoe Pound the father of social engineering would agree here that the facts and circumstances differ.
Meanwhile, the political tension in the state is rising to a boiling point with rumors that the deceased was poisoned by some party chieftain who sponsored the candidate and single handedly nominated his running mate with the hopes of replacing him through some clandestine agenda now allegedly revealed to be death by poison since the deceased is said to have regurgitated sanguine fluid before giving up the ghost. This in some way may insight bad faith against the running mate which may translate to protest votes thereby making way for the Peoples' Democratic Party to win at the final polls. The challenge that such a twist will bring is another series of legal suits challenging the propriety of the commission in continuing with an election when there is no candidate for one party. This probably is where sections 39 and 40 of the Electoral Act may avail the commission some respite.
Hence, it is submitted that the court should be called upon right away to do the jurisprudence without delay like Katsina-Alu posited in Rotimi Amaechi v INEC & Ors "Wherever justice demands it, this court must rise to do justice without regard to technicality." Thus, while the PDP deserve some commendation for their maturity so far in showing solidarity of sympathy to the APC it is a little surprising that they have not already approached the Federal High Court with an Originating Summons asking the court to interpret the law and show the way forward on this development. And in accompaniment to this an application asking the court to stop the commission from concluding the election and ultimately demanding a fresh election. Of course, typical response to this would be to challenge the prop
riety in forestalling the performance of a constitutional nay statutory duty but then to every general rule there is always an exception and the exception in this case lies in the question "what constitutional or statutory duty is there to perform when the law itself is already handicapped by facts?"

GOV. UDOM TASKS YOUTHS ON SELF ACTUALIZATION

Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel, has called on Youths to see education as a foundation for self actualisation.
This, he said would stimulate their thinking and propel them to break new grounds to enable them cope with the challenges of today's dynamic society.
The Governor made the call at a Variety Night organised for the Batch 'B' National Youth Service Corp members, at the State Orientation Camp, Nsit Atai Local Government Area.
He observed that the dynamic nature of today's society is dictated by ideas rather than certificates and that it has become expedient for graduates to look beyond their fields of specialization in their quest to make ends meet.
He explained that Man's rise to greatness is shrouded in segments which he identified as foresight, insight and hindsight and advised the Corp members that as they have left their comfort zones to take up their destinies, it behove on them to be guided by the believe that their attitude would determine their altitude of breakthrough in all their endeavours.
Governor Emmanuel therefore used the occasion to advised the Corp members to leave indelible footprint in their places of primary assignment and mentor other youths to embrace education stating that windows of opportunity abound for them to acquire skills that would sustain them and make them employers of labour.
The Commissioner for Youth And Sports Mr Monday Uko, who set the tone for the night of interaction, said that the event was put up to enable the Corp members unwind from the hectic camp activities.
He thanked the Governor for keeping to his promise to update facilities at the Camp and stated that work on the hostel block and toilet facilities have reached advanced stages of completion.
He particularly commended the NYSC officials for dedication to duty as well as the Corp members for their high sense of maturity during their stay in the Camp and charged them to exhibit such sense of self probity in their assigned places of service.
Earlier, the NYSC State Cordinator Lady Ngozi Chukwuka, spoke on the youth friendly disposition of the Governor describing him as the father of the Youths. She expressed appreciation to the Governor for his decision to provide additional facilities in the Orientation Camp.
The State Coordinator noted that the facilities would go along way to alleviate the suffering of the Corp members and specifically lauded the Youths Commissioner for identifying with the Corp to ensure a hitch free camping.
At the event, the Governor inspected the hostel project embarked upon by his administration and also received Souvenir and artifacts produced by the Batch 'B' Corp members.
The Governor, in appreciation, splashed the Corp members with cash to take care of transportation to their places of primary assignment. The variety night was spiced with performances by musical artistes and Comedians.

Gov. Udom Emmanuel Addresses Ex-Militants' Training.

EX-MILITANT'S TRAINING SHOULD BE TAILORED TO MEET MANPOWER NEEDS.........GOV. EMMANUEL.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has advocated a re-appraisal of the training scheme offered to the Niger Delta Ex-militants under the Presidential Amnesty Programme to enable them deploy the knowledge gained for self sustainability and economic development .
The Governor made the advocacy during his interaction with the Coordinator of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme who called on him at the Government House, Uyo.
He said the training offered through the programme does not address the local content demands of the Nigerian society especially in the oil bearing Communities .
The Governor suggested a liaison with the National Directorate of Employment for the development of the scheme stating that the ex-militants would be trained in line with the manpower needs the Nigerian society.
He said, as a practical step towards reintegrating the ex-militants, motivational talks should be used to encourage them to earn a living rather than engage in agitations and called on the Companies operating in the Coastal Communities to device modalities for dialogue so as to address issues of environmental degradation which he said ,are the root causes of their agitation.
The Governor, who traced the relative calm enjoyed in the area to the stipends paid to the agitators , spoke of the need for them to be encouraged to earn a living rather than rely on government stipends which the Governor said may not come too often and in their frustration, might go back to the creeks.
Governor Emmanuel however frowned at the delay in meeting the welfare of the ex-militants and said that such inconsistency in payment of the stipend account for the sporadic attacks on market women in the coastal communities and particularly condemned the recent attempt by the agitators to blow off the Calabar-Itu Bridge.
He endorsed the Coordinator's decision to establish offices in the Niger Delta states and said that the decision would bring about easy channelisation of grievances for ready solutions to their demands.
Earlier, the Coordinator, Niger Delta Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boro, said they were in the state to seek collaboration towards the successful Disengagement, Disarmament and Reintegration of the ex-militants.
He said the amnesty programme which was set up in 2009, has successfully disarmed four hundred and twenty-five agitators and that three hundred and sixty-eight of them have been trained in different capacities.
He said he would create additional state offices and collaborate with the military, paramilitary and other security agencies to achieve a complete reintegration of the ex-militants.
Brigadier Boro commended the state Government's decision to create jobs through agriculture which he described as the mainstay of Nigeria's economy and called on other Niger Delta states to take a cue from the Akwa Ibom example.
While commending the development strides witnessed in the state, the Amnesty Coordinator observed that the state is blessed with beautiful and natural sceneries that could be exploited for revenue generation and particularly expressed appreciation to the Governor for the reception accorded him and his team stating that his committee will collaborate with the state in it development efforts.

SELECTION OF CABINET WAS FOR THE ACTUALIZATION OF INDUSTRALIZATION BLUEPRINT....GOV. EMMANUEL.
Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel has said that he was painstaking in his choice of cabinet members as well as those appointed into the technical Committees to enable him achieve the vision of industrialization and wealth creation.
The Governor stated this when he attended the the sixth Anniversary Convention of the Word of Faith Covenant Assembly, Uyo
He said his team which comprises men of proven integrity with requisite skills and international connections were carefully selected to bring their wealth of experience to bear and attract investors to the State.
Governor Emmanuel however condemned the spate of unsubstantiated criticism and blackmail put up by uninformed members of the public whose stock in trade is the pull down syndrome and advised them to refrain from such act and show respect to the constituted authority as ordained by God.
While congratulating the General Overseer of the Church Pastor John Linus, for the sixth Anniversary Celebration, Governor Emmanuel expressed appreciation for his ability to nurture the Church from cradle to it sixth year of existence and attributed the feat to God's benevolence and spiritual guidance.
In his testimony, the General Overseer of the Word of Faith Covenant Assembly, Pastor John Linus, said the Church which was established on the 15th November 2009, has witnessed tremendous growth.
He added that the anniversary service concludes the week long convention where God manifested through financial breakthroughs and divine healing.
Pastor Linus thanked the Governor for leading his Cabinet members to celebrate with them and prayed for God's blessings upon him and his administration
Preaching on theme "Overflow", the Guest preacher Apostle Gabriel Nkanang, urged Christians to guard their calling jealously. He took his text from Psalm 23 verses 1 through 6, and explained why children are being born with their fist closed , pointing out that every child is born with a mission and the fist is freed when there is a manifestation of the mission.
The man of God said when Heaven chooses to bless a man, his family background or profession is of no significance, and that where there is a cup, there is always an overflow to the admiration of well wishers or chagrin of enemies. He urged all to identify their calling early enough to suit divine purpose for rapid progress
The service which also featured prayers and song renditions, climaxed with the cutting of the sixth Anniversary cake.

BUHARI APPOINTS PATIENCE JONATHAN MINISTER!

So this is how Buhari intends to disgrace us! Patience Jonathan was a fortunate house wife who became a first lady not by appointment but the vississitude of law and marriage. For a Senator whom the tribunal has in its "only God knows" wisdom used a pre election ground to declare her winner of a governorship election she lost at the polls and who has been appointed minister to begin with this kind of "fireworks!" after her poor performance at the senate ministerial screening I only hope this was an error that won't repeat itself increasingly. And please for those who are want to defend her note that malapropism in one's use of pronouns is analogous to popular dame's flaws like a woman whose husband is alive saying "My Fellow Widows". Perhaps the plausible deniability of accusing a P.A we don't know will suffice for her defence but then a repetition of any kind would deflate that defence. So defend wisely Because this might be a case of though Mama peace has gone her "fireworks"lives on!
Lol.

PRESIDENT BUHARI IN HOT SOUP!!!

It looks like the APC are in another soup; N5000 hot soup!
Some young Pro-APC Nigerians are surprisingly criticising Sen. Philip Aduda's motion for the payment of N5000.00 to unemployed Nigerian youths which the APC boastfully promised during campaigns as a set up against the APC

Now, let's face the truth. APC lied to Nigerians to win elections. They blackmailed GEJ. GEJ was working but the global economy has been suffering a serious epidemic telling gradually on Nigeria so APC used it on gullible Nigerians to sabotage their own nation in their pursuit for power. Today GMB is President: we've lost over N172b at NNPC in less than three months but GEJ and Deziani aren't there again to be called the thieves. FDI is being withdrawn exponentially because of the lack of policy direction of the FG but GEJ isn't here to be called clueless. We've spent billions already on presidential tours but GEJ isn't here to be called the "squanderer". The terrorists are taking a different dimension now and Chibok girls aren't found yet meanwhile latter day Comrade Mama Ekwesili seem to be tired of the #bringbackourgirls campaign especially now that Gov. El-rufai has given one of her coordinators appointment in Kaduna state and the principal of the Chibok school whose daughter wasn't kidnapped along with her classmates who were to write the same physics examination with her is now a commissioner in the same Borno state. The senators who screamed "Nay" to the motion to pay unemployed youths N5000.00 monthly all received not less than 7 million Naira allowances barely two months after inauguration and like my veteran journalist friend Ubong Sampson  wrote : these senators : those who won elections achieved that through these youths and those that rigged also rigged through these youths. Oh' lest I forget. The permanent secretary ministry of aviation appearing the other day before the senate revealed how Stella Oduah face lifted the aviation ministry and lamented how the ministry is falling daily since she left and how the minister-less condition makes it even worse but Stella had been blackmailed with a bad name. Luckily the hang team missed her. She's now at the senate. Camera was all over her during that moment of ironic truth! For me, the "change" had nothing to do with the state of Nigeria but the state of those selling it. They just wanted to change their financial status by capturing the nation's treasury which they did. The problem they'll now have is how to share it. It reminds me of the mythical thieves who returned from a successful robbery operation with great wealth but each desiring to have all of the loots to himself furtively plot the death of others. In the end two strangled one to death, another shot the others not knowing that the food and drinks had been poisoned by the strangled one. He ate and joined his colleagues. They all died leaving their spoils. Like Dr. Betta Edu  rightly observed the youth have 3 years and six months from now to effect the true change. So to say that Sen. Philip Aduda's motion for payment of N5000 to unemployed Nigerian youth is hypocritical is to say the least more hypocritical. You cannot shift the goal post after the match has started. Only a dog goes back to its vomit. If these people promised this to Nigerian youths and an opposition senator reminds them to make good their promise the least they could have done would have been to accept the motion. Set up a committee to look into the feasibility of it and come back with a report or possibly abandon it at the committee level. It wouldn't be the first. Things are becoming tougher economically and the only way out these goons seem to know is by activating judicial ambush for  the oil rich states. Unfortunately, the world is boarding a train away from oil dependency to alternate economies. The earlier we join the journey the better for us. An African proverb says that "whenever a man wakes up is his morning" but the problem with that is that whoever greets another man "good morning" at dusk is either drunk or something next to that. We can't as a nation miss our flight more than once especially now that global booking agents are running out of tickets. I have always been of the opinion that neither GEJ nor GMB was good for Nigeria but that it was safer to manage the former for another four years by which time these old crooks would have lost steam and relevance. There's no way GEJ would have been succeeded by an older generation or less brighter one. But now we have to manage not just the "Baba Go Slow" syndrome but the misfortune of having to help him fight the new crooks that came aboard with him. These crooks will do anything to establish their roots and if they run out of stems they'll graft their offsprings. We are in a perilous precarious predicament. Only the youths can save nigeria and to do these we must shed off party sentiments and be nationalistic for once! Our fathers have failed us. Let's not fail ourselves and those after us. The only alternative to this is the emergency coming of Jesus Christ once and for all!
